Imagination Unleashed

Although I may have a vision for what I want to create before I start a painting, my art is intuitively guided. I will be instinctively drawn to a selection of colors, textures, layers, feelings, and other elements that want to collaborate in creating the painting. Each painting contains many layers, which create depth, texture, and dimension. The finished piece is a delightful surprise to me.

I love nature and tend to view most “found items” as potential ingredients for my art. You’ll often find natural elements, everyday items, crystals, fabric, old jewelry, glass, metal, and stones upcycled into my mixed-media paintings. When I was younger, I experimented with oil paints, substrates, and textures in my abstract art. Now I’ve transitioned from oil to acrylics because there are so many paint and texture mediums available to experiment with and create. I still enjoy playing with different substrates. Inspired by my love of these subjects, my mixed-media art falls into the following Series: Whimsical Cats, Alien Landscapes, Cosmic Vistas, and Natural Elements.
