Happy New Year!

I hope your new year is off to a good start! Last year was a year of change, travel, learning and insights (I was in a 5-year in 2011).  It was a year filled with promise, excitement and opportunity.

Some things worked out according to my plan, others worked out according to the Divine Plan! See, it’s really all in your perspective.

There’s so much buzz around 2012. What I can say is that we are at a choice point and I feel very hopeful that we (collectively) will choose wisely. To help you, I'm posting some information about the vibrations in play this year as well as celebrating the Chinese Year of the Water Dragon.

I love dragons… perhaps because I was born in a dragon year! May 2012 be a wonderful year for you!

2012 is the Chinese Year of the Water Dragon and in Numerology it is a 5 Year vibration

Ch-ch-changes…  In Numerology 2012 is a 5 Year vibration

So what does that mean? According to numerology, we live our lives in a series of 9-year cycles (think of it as a spiral… which we hopefully move in an upward direction!).  So some years are naturally better for certain things than in other year, and bring different opportunities and lessons.

2012 is a 5 vibration year, and 5 is the symbol of change and progress; so be prepared for many exciting and surprising occurrences. Freedom, flexibility and adaptability are called for in navigating the energies at play this year.

The 5 vibration hints at more travel (long or short distance), exploring new places, cultures and things –including ideas and philosophies, romance, and communications of all kinds. If you are a writer, speaker, teacher, or performer, you could be very successful this year as the 5 energy will boost your mojo! 

One caution that comes with the 5 is change, so whatever you start at the beginning of the year will most likely change form or direction at least once before the year is out. Same is true for finances… things that paid well in the past may suddenly slow down or go dormant while other areas that were sluggish suddenly become quite profitable. Be watchful, be flexible, adapt and thrive.

In addition to the “universal energy” of the 5 vibration in 2012, each person also has a “personal year” vibration in play that will interact with the overall energy of the year. Your personal year energy has a stronger influence in your life with the general universal energy of the year as an undercurrent or underlying theme.

For some the 5 vibration of 2012 will be very supportive, for others it will be less compatible. Whatever your personal year number is, as long as you stay flexible and open to change you will be able to smoothly navigate whatever comes your way. If you resist change, you may find that you have a lot of opportunities show up for you to learn to embrace change!

To determine your personal year, add the month + day of your birth + current year and reduce to a single-digit number. Using my birthday (October 9) it would be:  10+9+2012 (1+0+9+2+0+1+2) = 15 = 1+5 = 6. So 2012 is a “6 year” for me.

9 Year: Reassessing, Releasing & Forgiveness

The 5 vibration is supportive of the 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 vibration and can be at odds at times with the 2, 4, 6, and 8 vibrations.  In the next blog posts I’ll talk more about how each number interacts with the 5 vibration present this year.
