Letting Go of Who I Thought I Was to Be More of Who I Am

Letting go of who I thought I was to be more of who I am, Reimagining My Relationship with Numerology. Woman with arms wide tossing numbers in theLetting go of who I thought I was to be more of who I am...  Part 2, reimagining my relationship with Numerology.

This is the second in what may become a series of posts about parts of me I’ve let go of or decided to shed or reimagine as they no longer fit who I am or am becoming…

And since I am in my Personal 9-Year, it makes perfect sense that I continue to redefine, reimagine, and reinvent things I'd like to carry with me into the start of my new 9-year cycle, which begins in 2025.

Over the past 4 years, I’ve been going through this phase of evaluating pretty much everything in my life, including what I want, what I want to do, how I want to live, and how to make more room for my creative expression. This also applied to my business.

In this interesting and often bumpy process of becoming more ME, I’ve been letting go of who I thought I was and what I thought I wanted.

Some things were a clear “stop doing this.”

Others I still felt a connection to, so I’ve been in the process of reimagining how I do them or a version of them now.

It may change tomorrow or next year. And that’s OK. It’s all part of my shedding the “not me” bits and reclaiming more of who I am now.

I was guided to share my insights and updates on a few of those areas…

Some of which I have let go of after serious soul-searching. Other things that still resonate with me but are transforming in some way.

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you are going through a similar process of “weeding your garden” to allow it to flourish and nurture you.

One of the things that has undergone metamorphosis… and it is something many people have been asking me about… is Numerology.

First, let me assure you that I still love Numerology and find it a very insightful and useful tool. Despite rumors to that effect, I did not stop offering or give up Numerology.

As if that were even possible for me.

You see, the numbers speak to me. That’s why I call myself an intuitive numerologist.

I can’t give it up! It’s always there, every friggin day!

After much soul searching (mentioned above), I did scale back on the Numerology Services I offer, though.

My most popular services are still (and have consistently been) available: Intuitive Numerology sessions and Annual Numerology Forecast/Update sessions.

However, I stopped doing my monthly numerology updates (video and blog posts) and discontinued some other more complex numerology services.

Here’s some background info on why…

The problem with numerology, astrology, human design, or any other number of incredibly potent tools that can help you understand yourself and your relationships more clearly is that every one of those tools can also be deep and esoteric and hard to grasp and integrate into your daily life.

The more you learn, the more you discover there is to learn. New layers and nuances are revealed. It truly is one of those never-ending journeys.

As a result, all those tools can be disempowering and frustrating to the layperson or dabbler.

Who am I kidding? All of the deep esoteric tools can also feel disempowering and frustrating to serious students and practitioners!

Hmm, Karen, didn’t you just say they were powerful? How can they be disempowering?

Confession and Confusion

I love these tools and have studied the modalities I mentioned here. And yet, the only one that I can almost wrap my head around is Numerology.

The numbers speak to me. I understand their layers of meaning. And even with the proficiency gathered over decades, I know there is so much more to know and understand.

On the other hand, Astrology falls out of my brain.

I can remember and superficially work with my sun sign (Libra), Moon (Cancer), and Rising (Libra).

And while I know which signs my other planets are in, for the life of me, I can’t seem to remember the houses and degrees and the interrelationships between them all.

Honestly, the entire “house” thing in my chart confuses the fuck out of me. I have to grab a book to look it up every time.

After years of study, I feel a bit foolish that I don’t retain that information. And that feels disempowering to me.

Sure, I can read my horoscope, but that is generalized for every Libra on the planet.

And sure, I can get my chart done by a professional and have them interpret it for me (which I have done numerous times).

And being helpful professional Astrologers, they also gave me a computer printout of my chart with all the signs, planets and positions. I appreciate this, yet it still looks like ancient Greek or an alien language to me.

WTF am I to do with this? How can this help me make better decisions in my day-to-day life?

Well, unless I have my astrologer on speed dial for a daily update, it isn’t very helpful in my daily reality.

The annual Astrology updates I received were always great and insightful, and I’d record them so I could listen to the reading again. Cause you know you know you ain’t going to remember what was actually said! And you might not be able to decipher your hastily scribbled notes the next day either.

All this information gets confusing, right?

When I started offering numerology, I decided to do it differently—to offer interpretations of how the numbers interact with each other.

This is because my early clients would say things like, “OK, I’m an 8 lifepath with a 7 name, and I’m in a 5 personal year. How does that work together?”

So, instead of just telling people their life path numbers, I’d explain the dynamics at play when you look at multiple numbers in their chart, rather than just what individual numbers mean.

Next, I thought it would be a good idea to teach people how to do numerology so they can feel more empowered…

Yeah. About that. I taught numerology for years and even wrote workbooks for the classes to make it easier. Instead, I was often met with confused stares.

Eventually, I realized I was like Dumbledore talking to the first years at Hogwarts… or a high school math teacher trying to teach first graders.

I was dismayed when I realized my desire to empower people with numerology was having the opposite effect.

Yikes!

Ok, scratch the teaching. Then I decided to offer Custom Reports and Intuitive Numerology Readings.

The readings were helpful and well-received. The in-depth Custom Numerology Reports I offered (Soul Blueprints, Name Analysis, Relationships, etc.) would often take me 10-plus hours to write because I tapped into the individual’s energy to connect to what those numbers meant in relation to their life. They were chock full of good information. And maybe more information than the client could digest.

I fell out of alignment with offering custom reports. The big clue here was my resistance to writing the reports because I knew it would be hours of work, and the rate charged didn’t equate to the amount of time required.

I realized that it wasn’t a win-win situation for me and my clients. The energy was out of balance.

That was a great learning experience for me.

So, I stopped doing written reports and switched to providing numerology readings that the client could record.

Which is all fine and dandy. Yet I sometimes felt that the person didn’t really understand what to do with the information.

Yes, I understand that I am not responsible for what someone does or doesn’t do with what I give them.

Remember, my objective here is insights plus empowerment.

Houston, we have a problem…

I sat with all this and realized that while I wanted to provide useful information, awareness, support, and empowerment to clients, numerology wasn’t making my heart sing either.

Uh oh.

Yes, I could do it. Yes, I was damn good at it. And numbers still speak to me on a daily basis.

Yet the thought of offering numerology made my heart feel heavy. Well, shit.

As I evolve in my life and the work that I do, what I offer and create must also grow, evolve, and change.

Yes, my clients still benefit from numerology.

I still offer several Numerology services. In addition, Spirit often prompts me to refer to a client's numbers during Intuitive and Past Life sessions.

When you engage with me, you have access to all I bring to the table. This applies whether you are having a past life, numerology, or intuitive consultation with me.

Why I stopped writing and speaking about numerology each month...

Since I still get asked about this, I thought I'd let you all know why I stopped after doing this for years and years.

I think I got bored. Writing and speaking about each month every year... How do you keep it fresh and different?  A 5-vibration month is a 5-vibration month. Yes, it will be colored by the number for the year. Yet the essential bits are the same for that number.

The way I set about writing the numerology monthly update created a box for me. At first, it was a roomy box. Then, after writing these blogs for 8 years, it started to feel like an assignment instead of a desire. You deserve better than that. I do, too.

If you loved my numerology blog posts and videos, thank you. And I appreciate you more than you will ever know. My apologies for discontinuing them.

I still write the annual numerology forecast for the Universal Years. 2024 is an 8-vibration year (you can read more about it here). And we will move into a 9-vibration year in 2025.

As a writer and a creative, I like to explore different things.

My heart and soul (all of me, actually) want to talk about other things now. Share new discoveries. Or talk about what works/doesn’t work or whatever the fuck interests me at the moment.

And, yeah, Numerology will still be in the mix.

If you are my kind of unique, weird, creative person, perhaps a little bit mad and out there dipping your toes in the Woo… well, then you might enjoy coming along for the ride. Would love to have your company.

Some closing thoughts for you

If you are a service provider of any kind, I invite you to feel into this for yourself.

What are you offering that you once loved and were passionate about that no longer lights you up… or worse, fills you with dread of having to do it?

Are you and your work/business in alignment?

Is it sustainable for you?

What changes would create more joy and space for you to thrive?

If you have a job or career, I invite you to pause and consider this for yourself as well.

What’s working, what’s not. Do you even like what you are doing?

Is the work and company in alignment with your values?

Is it time to move on or reinvent yourself?

If you are a creative of any kind, the same may apply to your creations (art, writing, music, tasty treats, or whatever you create).

What you create often morphs and changes as you grow and evolve.

Let yourself step into what new things want to come through you now.

What did you like doing that no longer inspires you?

Maybe it’s time to let that go and follow your curiosity to the next thing or assortment of things.

You are not the same person you were when you started out on this adventure in time and space.

You are not the same person you were 10 years ago.

You might not even be the same person you were last year!

Be you. Do you.

And it is perfectly fine to change your mind!

With deep love and appreciation,

Karen

PS. Do you have something you'd like to share about letting go of things that no longer fit?  I'd love to hear it.
